Книга знакомит с типами дислипидемий (ДЛП), их распространенностью, диагностикой и генетическими детерминантами. Анализируется патогенез ДЛП и современные подходы к их коррекции.

Каждый тип нарушения липидного состава крови проиллюстрирован клиническими примерами, что делает представленный материал наиболее доступным широкому кругу практикующих врачей.

Особое внимание уделено антиатерогенным липопротеидам, роль которых в липидном спектре крови и в развитии атеросклероза недооценивается, хотя чаще всего определяет течение и прогноз при дислипидемических состояниях.

В книге сопоставлены две основные группы больных ДЛП — сравнительно редкие моногенные гиперхолестеринемии и распространенные полигенные формы; приводится их характеристика, особенности диагностики и терапии.
