Цинк и рак предстательной железы

Краткое описание

В книге впервые представлена систематизация количественных морфометрических данных о возрастных изменениях относительных объемов основных гистологических структур предстательной железы, а также сведений о возрастных изменениях содержания цинка в ткани железы и простатической жидкости (соке), что выявило новые аспекты нормальной физиологии и метаболизма цинка в предстательной железе. Большое внимание уделено изменению содержания цинка в ткани и соке железы при ее доброкачественной гиперплазии и злокачественной трансформации. Обнаруженные изменения легли в основу новых способов дифференциальной диагностики этих заболеваний, в которых уровень цинка определяется в материале пункционной биопсии или в образце сока методом рентгеновской флуоресценции. Рассмотрены возможности неинвазивного in vivo определения концентрации цинка в предстательной железе. На основании данных о многократном возрастном увеличении содержания цинка в железистом эпителии сделано заключение о роли избыточной внутриклеточной концентрации этого элемента в этиологии гиперплазии и рака простаты, а также сформулирован ряд аргументированных рекомендаций по профилактике этих заболеваний.
